To prevent the spread of the disease, Hong Kong moved to cull thousands of pigs within the said area. Aside from Hong Kong, the World Animal Health Organization (OIE) also recently confirmed that ASF already spread in Cambodia. This prompted the Philippines to temporarily ban the importation of pork and pork products coming from Cambodia.
