Share TweetBy Roy MabasaMembers of the United States Marines and aircraft from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 and the Third Battalion and the Okinawa-based Sixth Marine Regiment will be partnering with soldiers of the Armed Forces of the (AFP) for the conduct of a 10-day Marine Aviation Support Activity (MASA) 19.2 in the country. The semi-annual US-Philippine military exercise will focus on mutual defense, counterterrorism, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and will take place in the Philippines from July 15 to 25. The second of its kind to be held this year, the MASA 19.2 focuses on building interoperability and enhancing the capabilities of both the AFP and US armed forces. Philippine and US service members will conduct cooperation and interoperability training consistent with the Mutual Defense Treaty and Visiting Forces Agreement.
