PC leader Patrick Brown meets predecessor John Tory at city hall

Former Ontario PC party leader John Tory, now Toronto’s mayor, and the once-critical current PC leader Patrick Brown were all smiles at a meeting-turned-first-photo-op at city hall on Friday. Loku was killed in 2015 while carrying a hammer inside his apartment building, which provides affordable housing to those with mental health challenges. “I have welcomed a number of leaders to this office and I certainly welcome Mr. Brown today,” Tory said, noting they share similar concerns. “In the end, what we’re all trying to do is build a strong city of Toronto and a stronger province,” he said. Tory chimed in, saying the number of calls to Toronto police for what are known as “emotionally disturbed people” continue to rise.
