ALOR SETAR: PAS Youth unanimously approved a motion at its 58th assembly on Friday calling for action against those who criticise the proposed Syariah law amendments. PAS Youth delegate Muhammad Ibrahim said that criticism of the proposed amendments to the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 - also known as RUU355 - could result in racial tension. Meanwhile, Penang PAS Youth delegate Muhamad Hafiz Alias said that the state PAS does not regret putting forward a motion to cut ties with Penang PKR. He said that the decision to table the motion was made because PAS has been repeatedly accused of not taking care of the welfare of Penang's Muslims. He added that PAS is ready to contest more than two parliamentary seats and at least six state seats in Penang.
