MANILA: Asean foreign ministers have expressed grave concern over the escalation of tensions in the Korean peninsula, and are worried that the instability in the area will have an impact on the region and beyond. In a statement issued on the eve of the 30th Asean Summit here, the ministers said Asean was concerned over the situation, including North Korea's two nuclear tests in 2016 and subsequent ballistic missile launches. "Asean strongly urges the DPRK to comply fully with its obligations arising from all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and international laws in the interest of maintaining international peace and security.
