The Oyo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended its state chairman, Dr Ahmed Ayinla and seven others for flouting the party’s directive on the March 9 governorship election in the state. Other state officers axed along Ayinla are the state publicity secretary, Ademola Adedapo; organizing secretary, Kolade Awojobi; youth leader, Luqman Adeoye; assistant organising secretary, Remi Sodiq; assistant financial secretary, Ismael Alarape; assistant state secretary, Honourable Mojeed Delesolu; and an ex-officio, Sikiru Oladipo. A communiqué issued at the end of the expanded State Executive Committee of the party and signed by the state secretary, Wasiu Emiola, said the meeting condemned the suspended members who worked for the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the directive of the party. ADC noted with the victory of the governor-elect, Seyi Makinde and commended all the stakeholders in the party including Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and the state assembly members for the sacrifice made for the victory of Makinde. The ADC stakeholders resolved to fill the positions made vacant by those suspended, just as they resolved to reposition and restructure the party for future elections.
