Owner of collapsed Huruma building to remain in custody until Monday

The owner of the building that collapsed in Huruma, Nairobi, killing 52 people in April will be held by police until Monday next week. Samuel Kamau, who is facing over 52 counts of manslaughter , will remain in police custody until a ruling on his bail application is delivered. Kamau's bail was to be set on Wednesday, following his lone appearance in court on Tuesday, when he denied the charges. The prosecution preferred charges against the accused persons after investigations were completed. His co-accused are Pancras Mwakazi, Anthony Ngugi, Gerald Morara, Joan Nyarobe - all Nairobi county officials - and Justus Kathenge of Nema.
