Outsourcing employees of government institutions have left Dhaka’s Shahbagh after seven hours of protest, giving a 15-day deadline for their demands to be met. Following the meeting, Bangladesh Outsourcing Employees Welfare Association President Mahbubur Rahman Anis announced the suspension of the demonstration. Mahbubur said, “The chief advisor’s press secretary assured us that they would work to fulfil our demands as soon as possible. The outsourcing employees had blocked the Shahbagh intersection from 10am on Saturday, leading to severe traffic disruptions in the surrounding areas.
