Auckland Mayor Phil Goff's next role might've become clear with reports linking him to be New Zealand's next High Commissioner to the UK when he finishes his term this year. NZ Herald is reporting an agreement has been reached to see Goff take over from Bede Corry, who is New Zealand's current High Commissioner. Goff's appointment has not officially been signed off by Cabinet and may not be until closer to an announcement, NZ Herald reports. It comes after the current Auckland Mayor announced in February he would retire from politics and would not be seeking re-election this year.
