Coimbatore-based S Manikandan's Milltex Engineers recently opened second round of crowdfunding for his electric bike project after generating Rs 40 lakh from 145 funders in the first campaign. The company plans to keep the bike affordable and thereby target college students, Manikandan tells Shahkar Abidi. You claim to be the first electric bike in India having been created out of the crowdfunding. We have designed the bike in such a way that parts of regular bikes can also be used. Similarly, E-60 and E-100 models have a range of 60 km and 100 km respectively in a single charge.
