Additional facilities like restaurant, general store, toilet, changing room, storage and parking to also come upMultipurpose jetty is going to come up at Chotti Chowpatty at Girgaon for sea plane, passenger water transport and water sports. "MbPT intends to construct a multipurpose jetty for passenger transport, water sports and amphibian (sea plane) operations at Chotti Chowpatty in Girgaon. The multipurpose jetty shall consist of partial permanent piled deck jetty and partial floating pontoon. The multipurpose jetty will connect the bridge having hinged end at reinforced cement concrete jetty and the roller end on the pontoons to accommodate tidal variations," mentions the bid document. Also, the state government has a plan to have an inland passenger water transport, but it is in initial stages of planning.
