Formula 1, however, is well-positioned to decide the length of season it wants and the places it wants to go. The sport can then open up the bidding for the races that want to join the fun. The current 23-race schedule has put the strain on the teams with ridiculous logistics. Intercontinental tripleheaders (three races in three consecutive weekends) are absolutely not the right idea in an age where the sport wants to be carbon-neutral. It might be great to imagine a race in Hawaii, but the time zones don’t work for everywhere.
