Police in Ottawa are investigating a series of graffiti hate crimes that they believe may be linked. Mike Laviolette says there were three incidents targeting the city’s Jewish community over the past few days. He says swastikas and anti-Semitic graffiti were sprayed on two local synagogues, as well as the front door of a woman who runs a Jewish prayer centre. Meanwhile, the Toronto District School Board has sent an email to parents about “a number of disturbing incidents of racism and hate”. The email doesn’t go into details about the incidents, but local media has reported that signs were posted near schools denouncing multiculturalism.
