Taylor retired hurt on eight on day two of the first test in Dunedin with a low grade tear in his calf. Seamer Trent Boult is also in doubt for the second test. A replacement for Taylor will be named this afternoon with Otago's Neil Broom shaping as a leading candidate. The match was nicely poised with South Africa 224 for six with a lead of 191 runs.
