Orbis International Bangladesh provided technical support for set up of the unit, with financial support from Qatar Fund for Development. Bob Ranck, president and chief executive officer of Orbis International, inaugurated and inspected the child-friendly eye-care unit at Cox’s Bazar Baitush Sharaf Hospital. The Orbis International Bangladesh Country Program has been working on the Childhood Blindness Reduction Program from 2000. Since then, Orbis International Bangladesh has established 13 child-friendly eye care units across the country through their partners.
