KANGAR: The operator of a self-service launderette here which served only Muslims customers, has agreed to change his 'marketing strategy' following advice from Perlis Mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin. He claimed that the move was just merely a marketing strategy for his two-month-old launderette services located in Jalan Kampung Bakau here. In all honesty, it was merely a marketing strategy as the majority of the people in Perlis are Muslims.. there was no intention to discriminate others," he said. "I wish to stress that the reason I came up with the Muslim-only service was as a marketing strategy. Asri said based on the discussion, the operator explained that he did not perceive the non-Muslims as being 'impure'.
