The Federal Minister for Childcare Efforts says Ontario has not yet set a way to spend billions of dollars on the funds allocated under childcare contracts. Ontario is the only jurisdiction without a childcare contract, and Prime Minister Dougford told radio station Q104 Kenora earlier this week that the state was “very close” to an agreement with Ottawa. ..Ford also told another radio station CJBQ in Belleville this week that it would like to confirm that childcare funding will continue for more than five years. “The minister said there was some pressure to reach an agreement by the end of the fiscal year on March 31st. She said the upcoming state elections could also delay transactions until the next state government was formed.
