This Facebook ad from the Ontario PC Party was sent out to those who 'liked' Donald Trump on Facebook. Elections Ontario does have rules regarding the use of social media advertising — but it won't say whether it plans to proactively monitor social media advertising in the upcoming election. ProPublica has developed a browser extension and algorithms that can identify and collect political ads in Facebook feeds.
