One person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital following a small fire at a property in Sydenham on Monday. A person has been taken to hospital following a fire at a Christchurch house. Fire crews were sent to a "small external" blaze at a property on Huxley St in Sydenham, just before 2.30pm on Monday. Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Rewai Grace said crews from Spreydon and Woolston extinguished the small fire shortly after arriving. St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said a person was moderately injured in the blaze and was taken to Christchurch Hospital's emergency department.
