A crash between a truck and a ute closed SH27 at Waharoa on Friday morning. One person has been killed and another seriously injured in a fiery collision between a truck and a ute near Matamata. Cars were travelling back and forth along the highway after the crash occurred before emergency services arrived, he said. Police confirmed in the afternoon that one person was killed in the crash. When Stuff visited the scene on Friday morning, police, a crane and tow-truck were attending to the contorted, burnt-out truck.
