One killed in Gore crashNext of kin notifying processes for the person who died in a car crash near Gore, Southland, on Saturday are on-going. Police were called to the scene just before 8pm on Saturday on Donald Rd, in Maitland, about 17km from Gore. A police media spokeswoman said the person killed was the driver, however police would not reveal the age or gender of the victim. The passenger was injured in the crash, and was taken to Gore Hospital, she said. The Serious Crash Unit was investigating the incident and the road was closed while the scene was cleared.
