A suspected criminal has been killed in a ‘gunfight’ with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Chittagong on early Thursday. The incident took place in the Rajganj area under Panchlaish police station in the port city. Rab 7 Assistant Director (Media) Mimtanur Rahman said Mahim’s cohorts attacked the RAB team when members of the elite force conducted a raid in the Rajganj area to capture him. RAB fired in retaliation, at which point Mahim’s aides fled the scene. The elite force claimed that Mahim was shot by his own supporters.
