By IANSKATHMANDU: At least one person died and scores of others went missing in an avalanche that hit the 8,163-metre-high Mount Manaslu in western Nepal on Monday afternoon. Three helicopters have already been mobilised but due to the bad weather, the rescue efforts were also badly hit. Sherpa said that the climbers, porters and Sherpa guides were swept away by the deadly avalanche while ascending from the third base camp to the fourth base camp which is located at the height of 7,450 metres. Indian climber Baljeet Kaur was among 12 climbers who were injured when an avalanche struck them at the base camp.
