One person has died and another is in critical condition after a serious crash in Canterbury. The crash, which was reported to police about 9.50pm on Sunday night, involved a car and a van. It occurred on West Coast Rd, West Melton, in Canterbury's Selwyn district. Cordons are in place at the intersections of West Coast Rd and Iris Taylor Ave, as well as West Coast Rd and Sandy Knolls Rd. The Serious Crash Unit has been advised and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
