In less than 24-hours, the fourth edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League officially gets underway in Morocco, as eight clubs contend Africa’s most prestigious women’s football club trophy. Headlining the tournament is of course the tournament’s reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns who in addition to defending the title, are aiming at extending their record with a possible third CAF Women’s Champions League title. The DRC side missed out of the competition last year and are looking at making a strong statement in the Morocco edition. The Egyptians have invested heavily into the women’s game and this will be showcased over the next few weeks in Morocco. The individual performances of talents like Refilwe Tholakele, who shone in the previous edition will also be eagerly anticipated by fans.
