Omicron: What you need to know about international travel now

Here is what you need to know if your travel plans have been disrupted. If you were planning on coming back before the end of February, you’ll need to secure and pay for an MIQ spot. From January 7, most travellers to New Zealand will also need a negative PCR or RT-PCR test taken within 48 hours of their scheduled departure. While this notice is in place, you may find it difficult to get travel insurance cover. So you will need to have contingency plans in place, in case you end up being away longer than expected.
