"It is a bit frustrating ‍that ​other speed skaters are performing so well," Huizinga said. In the team pursuit, the 28-year-old remains cautiously optimistic. He won bronze in the team pursuit at the 2025 World Single Distances Championships in Hamar and also secured bronze in the team pursuit at the 2024 European Championships in Heerenveen. As he settles into his ‌first Olympics, Huizinga says he is embracing the atmosphere.
