Just after 11.20am today (Sunday, October 22), Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a child who had been attacked by a dog on Villa Road. Emergency services attended the scene and a 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries. While the dog has been safely detained, a 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a dog dangerously out of control. A spokesperson for the force confirmed Greater Manchester Police attended, including armed response vehicles and a Dog Unit.
