A Cincinnati police officer was shot while responding to a domestic violence incident and shot a suspect early Sunday, a police spokesman said. The officer was shot once, possibly twice, and discharged his service weapon, shooting what appears to be a male suspect in the 2600 block of Gilbert Avenue about 12:30 a.m., Lt. Steve Saunders said in a conference call with reporters. Both the officer and suspect were taken to a hospital.
