According to officials with the State Excise department, Kochi is becoming part of a blossoming scene involving affluent youngsters, who puff up high quality hashish from the Kullu-Manali region in Himachal Pradesh. The dope, popularly known as Malana cream, is mostly consumed as a fashion statement. The department has received specific information about a few youngsters from the city frequently making trips to the destination, purportedly to link up with the dope dealers. Meanwhile, Telangana and Tamil Nadu account a majority of the ganja consignments flowing to the city through the border check-posts.
