Fairfax County prosecutors have cleared police officers of criminal wrongdoing in the death of an autistic man who died after a struggle with officers in April after the man wandered away from his caretakers. Gianelos wandered off and was reported missing. But Gianelos became agitated, and officers forced him to the ground because they feared that he might get hit by a car, the report said. After Gianelos was brought under control, he suffered a medical emergency and later died at a hospital, according to the report. Morrogh wrote that the officers did not employ choke holds, strike Gianelos or use weapons on him.
