The Election Commission is currently examining a petition for the disqualification of the 21 MLAs from the 70-member House where the AAP has 67 MLAs. The AAP government had appointed 21 MLAs as parliamentary secretaries to six ministers in Delhi in March last year. He added: "We hope the EC will take a decision on the 21 MLAs soon. Delhi's parliamentary secretaries do not get a salary, although the Opposition has accused them of using official transportation. Several states also have exempt parliamentary secretaries - essentially a consolation post to accommodate those who could not be given ministries because of a ceiling.
