Authorities say an off-duty police officer with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission shot a man who illegally entered his Maryland home. The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission is a water and wastewater utility serving 1.8 million residents in Prince George's and Montgomery counties. Blandford says the officer has served with the sanitary commission for one year. He declined to disclose the races of the suspect or the officer. Prince George's County Police Officer Tyler Hunter says his agency will likely release more details Monday.
