It apparently really does take two to tango: after US President Barack Obama famously took to the dance floor while in Argentina this past March, Secretary of State John Kerry didn’t miss his chance to do the same while in Buenos Aires last week. And, as the following photographic evidence suggests, Kerry tried out a few moves of his own in a quick, impromptu lesson. Kerry — a tango aficionado, it turns out — reworked his 24-hour schedule in the Southern Cone to squeeze in a few hours at the Rojo Tango Show at the Faena Hotel, a dance hall previously frequented by the likes of Sting, the Rolling Stones and John Travolta, Rojo Tango sales director Diego Messano told me. “He’s very nice — a huge tango fan!” Messano replied. Meanwhile, I’m rather hoping Kerry and Obama occasionally break from policy briefings to sashay down the halls of the White House, or clink Malbec glasses to another screening of Scent of a Woman.
