Six people were electrocuted and 25 injured when the bus they were travelling in came in contact with an 11-kilovolt wire in Bhuban area of Dhenkanal district Tuesday. The private bus carrying 40 people was on the way to Kamakshyanagar in Dhenkanal from Jajpur when the luggage on top of the bus touched the sagging 11 KV line at Sishu Mandir Chhak. The injured were taken to Bhuban Hospital. Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited declared Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia for the next of kin of the deceased. CM Naveen Patnaik also announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the kin of each of the deceased.
