Four members of a family were not at home when fire ripped through their Hastings flat early on Sunday morning. The steel building was gutted in the blaze and emergency services were initially concerned that the occupants could not be found. But it was later established that the family members – a couple, their child and a grandparent – were elsewhere when the fire broke out.
