Niger President Mahamadou Issouifou inaugurated the OIC's foreign ministers meet while OIC Secretary General Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen addressed the opening ceremony held at Mahatma Gandhi International conference centre in Niamey, capital of Niger. During the inaugural session, on behalf of UAE's foreign minister, UAE's Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Bint Ebrahim handed over the CMF presidency to Niger Foreign Minister Ibrahim Yacoubou. Bangladesh is set to initiate a fund mobilization campaign utilizing the platform of CMF to support Gambia's legal battle against Myanmar at the ICJ over the Rohingya genocide. On January 23, 2020, the ICJ made the historic unanimous decision ordering provisional measures to prevent further acts of genocide against the Rohingyas in Myanmar. On Saturday, the OIC foreign ministers will adopt resolutions and proclamation of the "Niamey Declaration" while OIC secretary general and president of 47th session of CFM are scheduled to hold a joint press conference after conclusion of the two-day meeting.
