Ex-gangster Stephen Gillen detailed inmates' murders, sadistic guards and prisoners throwing hot oil over rival gang members. Stephen even once shared a cell with notorious prisoner Charles Bronson - who he said was a "wonderful storyteller". Stephen said his stints included witnessing inmates being stabbed to death in front of his eyes - on two separate occasions. He said: "I saw one prisoner stabbed with a metal spike taken from a travel box and fashioned into a stiletto, the other was stabbed with a make-shift knife."
