At a ceremony at Government House yesterday Dunedin television producer and businessman Sir Ian Taylor was knighted by Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy. Sir Ian said it was a privilege to be recognised but said "nobody calls me Sir." "She did all the hard work behind the scenes to make sure [the business] didn’t go broke, and raised two wonderful kids too." Sir Ian wanted to recognise his anonymous nominators, saying he had helped to make nominations in the past.
