Police have named the man who died in hospital following a car crash near Oamaru on Wednesday night. The passenger remains in Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition. Mr Scott died overnight in hospital, police said today. Mr Scott and his 80-year-old female passenger were airlifted by the Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter to Dunedin Hospital after their car hit a tree on McLeods Rd, at Deborah, about 7.30pm on Wednesday. He was 85-year-old Ronald Martin Scott, of Oamaru, police said.
