BCB North Zone started the third day in a strong position where they needed six wickets to take a significant first-innings lead as they scored 445 and Islami Bank East Zone were 125/4 in the first innings at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi. Middle-order batsman Yasir however, had other ideas and formed a 113-run partnership with Saifuddin to take the score to 269 before the latter departed after scoring 64. Medium pacer Ebadat Hossain was the best bowler so far for North Zone as he took 3/76 though they managed to take just three wickets all day and East Zone decreased the deficit to just 65 runs with three wickets remaining. With just the fourth and final day remaining, and still over two more innings to play, the match is headed towards a draw.
