French's in Wells and Fishers in Hunstanton were named in the list compiled by The Times. As part of the paper's annual top 50 beach supplement, which saw Holkham crowned the top in the East of England, it released a list of the best 18 coastal fish and chip shops in the country. French's fish and chip shop has been named among the best in the UKWilliam Thomas French opened his Wells chippy in 1921 and the quayside shop has been run since 1984 by his grandson Marcus. Harry Potter star Warwick Davis was spotted enjoying a meal at Fishers in September and happily posed for photos and chatted with staff and customers after enjoying cod and chips.
