A sub-inspector of the Uttar Pradesh police was arrested and three others were suspended for shooting at two men in Noida’s Sector-122. The man’s family had alleged that the sub-inspector stopped the car of the victim, Jitender Yadav, and fired two shots at him without any provocation. The SSP added that is certainly not a case of an encounter but probably a case of personal enmity. The victim Jitender Yadav was hit in the neck and Sunil, who was with him in the car, was shot in the leg. Since Yogi Adityanath became chief minister, 950 alleged encounters have been carried out by Uttar Pradesh police.
