It came after students were warned to obey coronavirus restrictions or face Christmas stuck on campus over the weekend. But despite the silver lining for students festive freedom, demands for fee refunds for education further disrupted by the coronavirus were rebuffed by No 10. It came as students and parents have started to demand tuition fee refunds as universities abandon face-to-face teaching because of Covid outbreaks. Amanda Milling, Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party has said there were "no plans" to keep students at university over Christmas. At Manchester Metropolitan University students have complained that security guards and police are stopping them leaving their address.
