Asma told Mirror Online: "I was in pain and felt numb, but I had no choice but to carry on as my youngest was nine months old and unaware of what was happening. "We were just living one day at a time and the reality of this lasted for years on end." Her frustration that a murder investigation was not launched were heightened by one particularly overbearing police officer. Before Asma knew it her husband, who had just headed out for a few hours, had been gone for years. A murder investigation was finally launched at the beginning of 2014 and several people were arrested in connection with the alleged killing.
