There will be no election to one ZPTC and 40 MPTC seats in the State in the three-phase elections to rural local bodies (RLBs) either due to legal impediments or because their term is yet to be expired. State Election Commissioner V. Nagi Reddy stated here on Saturday that election to Mangapeta ZPTC and 14 MPTC seats of the mandal in Mulugu district was not being held due to legal issues. Of the 538 ZPTC seats going for polls, 267 have been reserved for women in scheduled areas (15), ST (30), SC (49), BC (48) and unreserved (125). Of the remaining 271 seats, 128 are unreserved, 47 for BCs, 49 for SCs, 30 for STs and 17 in Scheduled Areas. The reservation process for Mangapeta ZPTC and its 14 MPTC seats was not take up due to legal issues.
