NEW DELHI: A committee set up by the Delhi government to look into recent deaths attributed to dengue and chikungunya claimed on Saturday that there had been no confirmed fatalities due to either of the mosquito-borne diseases so far. In at least three death cases attributed to chikungunya and four death cases attributed to dengue, the committee ruled out the hospital's report citing lack of supportive documents. The committee went through all the documents and concluded that most patients died due to comorbidities they already suffered from. "If the patient is positive for chikungunya, it is clear that the virus has led to complications and death," said a doctor, who did not want to be quoted. He said that government wants to suppress truth to hide its failure in preventing the health crisis.
