No demand? Mumbai-Goa Tejas Express sees a steep drop in number of passengers

The express carried 90 passengers between Karmali and CSMT on August 24 and 103 passengers on August 22. On August 27, between Karmali to CSMT there were 982 passengers and on August 29, 750 passengers were onboard the Tejas. On Anant Chaturdashi — September 5 — the express had 950 passengers between Karmali to CSMT, but only 124 passengers on September 6. Despite this, the Indian Railways is all set to launch a Tejas Express between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. But, the big question is whether another Tejas train is commercially viable given that the cost of construction of one rake is Rs75 crore.
