KUALA LUMPUR: The Transport Ministry today made it clear there was no decision made to begin a new search for the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. “This media statement intends to address a news report that states the relaunching of a new mission to search for the missing wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. “While the Transport Ministry deeply empathises with the family members of the victims and stands by them, the Ministry has not made any decision to relaunch any new searches as there has not been any new credible evidence to initiate such a process,” the ministry said. However, it added, the ministry would review any new evidence that it officially received. No sign of the wreckage was found in a 120,000sq km Indian Ocean search grid and the Australian-led hunt, the largest in aviation history, was suspended in January 2017.
