Richie McCaw completes first leg of Coast to Coast unscathed BRENDON EGANKAI SCHWOERER/GETTY IMAGES New Zealand Rugby Players Association boss Rob Nichol, left, and former All Blacks captain Richie McCaw are competing in the two-day tandem at the Coast to Coast. Arriving at Klondyke Corner with no blood streaming from his legs or nasty wounds, Richie McCaw let out a wry smile. Having only done the mountain run two years ago, McCaw said Friday's cycle was a new experience. At Thursday's media opportunity, McCaw admitted the kayak was the part of the race he was most worried about. McCaw trained around 10-12 hours a week heading into Christmas for the Coast to Coast.
